Water is a vital element in human life. Large cities have very little water catchment areas added on to the high usage of groundwater makes it very difficult to obtain good quality water.
Hence it is important for the balance of the environment to be preserved. The sole reason behind this problem has led CMN to run the biopori programme. Biopori is an environmentally friendly technology which helps cope with flooding. In addition to that, biopori also assists in the absorption of water, turning organic waste into compost and reducing CO2 and methane.
This activity is carried out by CMN to educate the public on how to cope with floods and get good quality water as well as prevent many problems plaguing such as malaria, dengue fever and elephantiasis (filariasis).
Goals & Objectives:
Created as a form of awareness on environmental issues with a focus on teaching the public on to cope with floods and get good quality water and to prevent diseases such as malaria, dengue fever and elephantiasis (filariasis) from spreading.
